Privacy policy
Last updated: July 2026
Barty ("we") is operated by Jaime de los Santos, Madrid, Spain. This policy explains what data the Barty iOS app collects, why, and what your choices are.
What we collect
- Account: your email address and sign-in method (email, Google or Apple). Your date of birth, used to verify you are 18+ — only your age is ever shown to other users, never the date itself.
- Profile: the name, photo, city, Instagram handle and bio you choose to add.
- Content you create: plans (title, description, place, date, photo), applications and their messages, chat messages, friendships, saved groups.
- Location: if you grant permission, your location is used on your device to show how far plans are — that browsing location is never uploaded. When you create a plan, its venue location is stored and shown to other users as the plan's place; if you choose "use current location", that venue is your device's position at that moment.
- Identifiers: a user ID created for your account, used to make the service work.
What we use it for
Only to run Barty: showing plans and profiles to other signed-in users, delivering chat, and keeping the community safe (report handling and moderation). We do not sell your data, show ads, or use your data to track you across other apps or websites.
Where it lives
Data is stored with our backend provider, Supabase, in the European Union (Frankfurt). It is protected by row-level access rules: private data (your date of birth, your friendships, your blocks) is readable only by you.
Sharing
Other signed-in users see what the app is for: your profile, your plans, and your messages in chats you share. We share data with no one else, except our infrastructure provider (Supabase) acting on our instructions, or where the law requires it.
Your rights
- Delete: Profile → Delete account in the app removes your account and content immediately and permanently. Chat messages you sent remain visible to their rooms, attributed to "Deleted user".
- Access & correction: your profile is editable in the app; for anything else email us.
- EU/EEA residents also have the rights provided by the GDPR (access, rectification, erasure, portability, objection). Contact us to exercise them, or complain to your local data-protection authority (in Spain, the AEPD).
Retention
We keep your data while your account exists. When you delete your account it is removed immediately; residual copies in encrypted backups expire within 30 days.
